• WHY A NFC CHIP?
    We would like to be able to guarantee you that you are buying an authentic SEVENFRIDAY watch, so you know the quality of the product is as expected.
  • DOES THE CHIP TRACK WHERE I AM?
    No. It is just holds data, like a barcode, it’s passive. There are no GPS tracking capabilities.
  • CAN I READ THE CHIP WITH ALL PHONES?
    No. Only NFC enabled phones, which includes most Android phones. Currently, iPhones don‘t allow NFC reading.
  • CAN I READ THE CHIP WHEN I WEAR THE WATCH?
    No. NFC can’t communicate through the watch. They can only be read directly from the globe section of the case back.
  • WHAT APPS ARE AVAILABLE?
    Currently the SEVENFRIDAY app is available in GooglePlay, this allows you to register your watch and authenticate it. There is also a Apple app, this doesn’t support authentication until Apple allows NFC reading, you can however access your account and manage your collection.
  • CAN I REGISTER A WATCH WITHOUT CHIP?
    No. Only chipped watches can be registered.
  • CAN I SELL OR GIFT WATCHES I HAVE REGISTERED?
    Yes, you can. However they will have to delete the watch from their personal account, so the new owner can register the watch.
  • IF YOU BUY A USED WATCH AND CANNOT REGISTER THE WATCH, BECAUSE THE PREVIOUS OWNER IS STILL REGISTERED, WHAT CAN I DO?
    When you scan an already registered watch, a message will appear advising you to contact SEVENFRIDAY at contact@sevenfriday.com
  • I SCANNED THE WATCH AND IT TIMED OUT, WHAT DOES THIS MEAN?
    This means you may not have read the watch correctly, weaker NFC scanners really need a distance of 0.2 mm to the chip, so you may circle your phone over the chip a few times to ensure the Scanner got close to the Chip. If it didn’t find a chip and keeps timing out, it may simple not have a chip and therefore is counterfeit product. You can double check by downloading a generic NFC scanning app and see fi this one can scan the chip.
